Hi There!

I just got back from my mini Nor-Cal tour and it was such a great experience! My guitarist Bruno and I packed up the car for a couple shows including a live performance/ interview on KZFR 90.1 FM in Chico. This was my first radio interview/ performance and we had so much fun! Thanks DJX! Hopefully there will be many more radio interviews in the future.

This trip to Chico was my first time back since I graduated college and I was beyond excited! Ironically some old college pals were in town that same weekend so we were sure to enjoy ourselves and hang like old times. Of course I had to hit campus for some reminiscing and even ran into an old music professor of mine. He was the hardest out of all my music teachers and only remembered me when I told him I was the girl who wrote the paper on Forro music (pronounced “Foh-ho”). It is a style of music in North Eastern Brazil that he knew nothing about until my paper and asked if he could keep the CD’s I attached for reference. Bruno (who is from Brazil) was also sure to let me know he does not like Forro music. ;) Anyway, the campus and city have changed a lot. While it is still a fun college town, it’s much nicer with all the changes they have made.

Overall, I learned soooo much from this little trip and want to thank everyone who came out to a show!! I saw many new faces as well as familiar faces and it made it that much sweeter. East coasters, I do hope to see you at the end of this summer. :) Please continue to check back for show dates!

While I hoped to share new material with you by now, mixing has been a bit of a process. Maybe I will share one that is actually done. Hmmmm…I think I should. :) Stay tuned and thanks for your continuous support!!!

I am finally heading into the studio to record two new songs. The purpose of these recordings is simply to have something new to share with YOU! :) I am only recording these 2 songs because I have plans to head back into the studio early this summer to record a full length EP. It all just comes down to finding the right team and of course…funding! Blah, blah…money! ;)

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day! While it’s not my favorite holiday, it’s one that always makes me laugh. I rode in the elevator with a woman who received flowers and she was grinning ear to ear. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at the thought of it all. Ha, ha, even still I can’t help but laugh out loud! I really do love all holiday’s, though… I don’t discriminate. SO happy President’s Day Ya’ll!! :)

I would like to share a few things with you…

1) WRITING/ RECORDING - I am still writing, and as mentioned before, I am really excited about these new songs! I have plans to get into the studio next month with the sole purpose of sharing new material with you.

2) LIVE SHOWS – I am playing in San Diego next Sunday – 2/24 @ 8:30pm and I am really looking forward to this show. Because I will be recording in March, I have no plans to play again until April, where I will be hitting up Nor-Cal. 3) CONGRATS – I also want to take the time to let you know my manager Jonah and his beautiful wife Annie delivered their first bundle of Joy on February 5th!! His name is Seamus (pronounced Shea-muss) and from the little pic I saw of him, he looks absolutely perfect!!! I hope to meet him in person soon. Now that I am not sick anymore… jeez!

My, things have been busy, busy!! :) But… it’s a good kind of busy.

Hopefully this finds you well and in good health. I was down with a nasty cold for about 2 weeks which resulted in a sinus infection. It seems to be going around so drink your Airborne and take those vitamins!

I have been busy writing and have plans to share some of the new stuff with you soon. I am reeeeaaally excited about some of this new stuff and about creating in general with a clear idea of what I want.

In addition to writing I have been mapping out my mini Nor-Cal tour and I’m beyond excited to hit the road!! I will be hopping in the car with my guitarist Bruno in April and we would love to play for you – please continue checking back for show dates!

In a nutshell this is what I have been up to! :) I did have the pleasure of attending the 50th Anniversary of the Grammy’s last night and it was amazingly inspiring!! Being able to see some of my idols perform live was an insane gift and I am beyond grateful. To be able to step into your dream for a night and have it waved in front of you…watching others live that dream, is unreal and almost indescribable. What a beautiful thing to dream and what a beautiful thing to fight for that dream. Whether or not my dream comes true… dreams do come true. You will just never know if you don’t give it the blood, sweat and tears it takes to bloom.

Happy New Year! I hope it is off to a great start!

I have to warn you that you will see some shots of me with NO make-up. My, am I daring...or nuts?! Hmmm both? For that reason alone it should be rated "R".

Catie and I will also be doing a smaller video segment here soon, showing you some fun behind the scenes stuff and in particular, the preparation for a show! Hey There!

It's raining here in LA! O'h how we have needed it...

I hope this finds you warm and cozy, gearing up for another holiday! Nothing sounds better right now than sitting at home with my brand new guitar ;) (Merry X-mas to me) and a cup of hot chocolate! Mmmm

BUT, there is too much to do to be sitting still. This weekend I will be shooting the video for "To Be Me" with Catie Laffoon behind
the camera. I will be surrounded by my talented friends so it's less
like work and more like play; except for the fact that I have to be there at the butt crack of dawn. ;) I will be sure to bring a camera to capture some of the fun behind the scenes.

I have added a show to the calendar, playing Tangier on Thursday, January 17th at 9pm. This is my first time at Tangier so come join us for dinner or just a bevie! Check the "shows" section for details.

There are some other cool things in the works that I look forward to sharing in due time, but until then, please fill me in on what you have been up to! :)

PS -- I had no intention of buying myself a "x-mas gift" when I went into Guitar Center on Wednesday. I went in to get some strings and was attacked by salesmen!! They were really smooth and so was I; I batted my eyelashes and talked them down to half price! My negotiating skills have improved!!! After such a rough year...it was easy to talk myself into deserving the fine X-mas gift! ;)

I can't believe it's November already!! Now that Halloween is over the holiday's are going to fly by.

Before that happens, I want to fill you in on the latest! :)

1) NEW MANAGEMENT - Please join me in welcoming my new Manager Jonah Cozien to the fam!!! He has a background in entertainment law and brings an energy, creative spirit, passion and support that I have needed! Our team is growing and things are looking bright! 2) WRITING/ RECORDING - In addition to writing on my own I have been collaborating with some great new talent!! I am really excited about some of these new songs and hope to get into the studio early next year.

3) LIVE SHOWS -- One's got to keep up with the live chops, so I am
planning a few intimate shows here in LA and surrounding areas.

piano player/ songwriting partner Drew Lawrence and his wife Sara on their first bundle of joy!! Grady Owen Lawrence is perfect with 10 fingers, 10 toes, and ONE HECK OF A VOICE! I have learned he is quite the sleeper and does not cry much at night, BUT, I have also heard a few cries and they are more like high pitch Steven Tyler wails!

Hopefully you are enjoying your summer; it sure seems to be flying by!
I have been extremely busy myself and the clothes piled on my bed are a good reflection of this! But, busy is good. :) I have a photo shoot this weekend that is long overdue and I look forward to getting these new pics up as soon as possible!

The last we spoke I was recording “Black” and writing, writing, writing! I have stepped away from recording “Black” for I would like to take it in a new direction. I am thinking of just holding off a little longer and going into the studio to record a group of songs at once, opposed to just one at a time. I am excited about my new songs and will be sharing some at my next show – Sunday, September 16th at Hotel Café. If you live in the LA area, I do hope to see you there!!

The music video for “Settle Down” is still in its treatment phase, so we will be unable to start filming this month. Paolo Borraccetti is the talent behind the video and I am really excited to work with him – he rocks! :) I will continue to keep you posted!

Hey There!

I will be recording a song of mine called "Black" this Friday and I am really excited to lay it down! It's a slow, dark song which is one of the most personal songs I have ever written. Drew Lawrence is the usual "writing partner in crime" so he will be gracing us on keys, while Sydney Alston does the recording and mixing.

As much as I love playing live, I am really in a writing mode and want to take advantage before it fades. All writers can understand this! I also love collaborating with other great songwriters, so if you are a songwriter and are interested in writing together, please let me know!

People continue to ask when I will be having my next show and to be honest…not until the end of the summer. I MIGHT do a small acoustic show here or there to test out new material, but in terms of a full band, full out show…probably not until late summer. My focus is solely on writing & recording!! I would like to get up to Santa Barbara and/ or San Diego for a small acoustic show, but I will keep you posted.

Hello Everyone!!

I am sorry I have been a little out of touch! I just moved into a new place and have been quite consumed with change. Nevertheless, things are in full swing and I look forward to sharing all the great things to come!!

For the next few months I will be focused solely on writing and recording, and will refrain from live performances until this summer. I am in a musical transition, going through my first re-invention stage if you will. ;) I am excited about my new material and sharing “Settle Down”, which is supposed to be in my ever so anxious hands this week!!

Last month I attended the ASCAP Expo here in LA and met a lot of great writers, producers, “suits” & fellow musicians. A lot of great things came from the event and it was definitely an inspiring experience on the writing front. The highlight of the event was meeting Bill Withers!! You can find a picture of us on my MySpace. Woo-Hoo!

I will be sending out another update soon with the release of “Settle Down”, however, I wanted to give you the latest. Be sure to check back for any other tid-bits that come together that I won’t send out to the masses. ;)

Hello dearest friends!! On January 13th I headed into the studio to record a song of mine called “Settle Down” (co-written with talented singer/songwriter, Dave Yaden (Josh Kelly). With Blake Paulson on Drums, Chris Opperman on keys (Steve Via’s piano player – yeah, he's sick! And one of the nicest guys EVER!), and Glen Preece on Bass, we are off to a killer start!! Aris Archontis is the mastermind behind the recording and I am so grateful for his talent! Not only does he give 10,000 percent, he is so fun to work with! But, because I was out of town January 14th-January 30th the recording was put on hold. We are picking it back up and bringing in some other great musicians. We should have the song ready to share by the end of this month!!

I have a show this Friday, February 9th in Hermosa Beach and again on Saturday, February 17th in LA. Please check the shows section for details and hopefully I will see you soon! :)

I am also really excited to share that I am working with a great designer friend of mine to create the first ever Selena Garcia T-shirt!!! ;) I will have these ready in the next couple of months…so stay tuned!!

It is a beautiful first day of the year! Bright and sunny, warm and quiet, I am happy to be in LA today! :)

For many, the New Year is a celebration of a new beginning. Whether you make New Years resolutions or not, I like to think that everyday is a new beginning! I wish you all a wonderful 2007 full of those you love, happiness and good health! Happy New Year!
